Are you still feeling the effects of a happy holiday? After a brief hiatus, I’m back on the fitness blog scene and am happy to report that this past month was spent resting, relaxing, and enjoying the time away. Still, even I know that too much fun can mean a lot more work to help you accomplish your fitness goals. How do you get motivated after a long stretch spent off the clock? As I write this, I’m reflecting on my own return from a few weeks off the blog scene. Getting back in the groove, whether it be writing or running, is always a difficult thing. Are you making the right moves? While I like to think of the fitness journey as something that constantly evolves, there are a few basic guidelines to help you along in your quest. Beyond the so-called “Universal Truths” of fitness—move more and be mindful of your mouth—don’t forget to keep your fitness outlook in check as well.

Does your fitness body image need a readjustment? Sometimes, our sordid self-conceptions can stand in the way of our efforts in the gym, in the kitchen, and in life in general. It’s totally normal to have hang-ups with your bod, but when your footing gets a little shaky and start to feel down and out, keep cool and try to remember these key points.
